Why Not a Dozen More?
With Tristan gone for the summer and daddy out of town for the week, the house was just too quite with “only” my little tribe of 6, so, Abi and Britain organized a daycamp and 12!! eager little 3-8-year-olds stormed our house every day for a week! C is unamused that Im asking why we dont have a dozen more! It was crazy and fun and chaotic and exhausting and it turned Abi into a bonafide coffee-drinker!
We survived and Im incredibly proud of how hard the girls worked to plan and execute a activity-packed week of fun for these adorable kids. The girls got Pinterest accounts, planned in detail, made timetables and shopping lists and ordered camp Tshirts. They had a “theme” for every day and a little lesson on a character quality or moral that they taught on and wove through each day with crafts and songs and games. When did my babies turn into baby-sitters?
A fun little glimpse into ex-patriate life in a foreign country – it felt like the Junior United Nations with Danish, Indian, Italian, American, Japanese and South African kids all getting along splendidly!
I hope the kids went home ever day as tired as my kids were. We rounded out the week with a pizza party to celebrate surviving…..and the girls didnt wake up until 10 the next morning!
We made it through the week without a single bandaid needed – success! Taking registrations for next summer 🙂 Who wants a spot?
I want a spot! Something really, really special and significant occurred that week.
