Strawberries. Yes please!

This is one of my favorite spring traditions!
Britain’s class had a field trip to a strawberry patch today. I went as a chaperone and the two babies (can I still call them that?) accompanied me.

Brit was so cute the night before. They were instructed to wear old clothes that could get dirty and tennis shoes, but Britain wanted to wear her red strawberry dress. Didnt take much convincing to get mommy on board. Ill substitute cute for functional any day!

They should have weighed Evie in and out. Pretty sure they would have charged me for several more pounds of strawberries. She was so cute running up and down the rows. She kept coming up to me with a half eaten strawberry and juice dripping down her arm to her elbow saying, “try this one mommy. It really yummy”

Izzy singlehandedly filled an entire two buckets herself. Get this, she outpicked me!! She was a girl on a mission and I was impressed (and rather distracted from the task of picking by all the cute photo ops!)

Britain was so proud to show off her sisters to her classmates. My sweet strawberry girl!
I may have missed a golden opportunity by opting to not get up at 4:00 am and make scones and tea for my kids to watch the wedding, BUT, we did have a pretty Royal Dessert!

Almond Pound Cake with Heavy Cream and Strawberries….aah….
Can the Royal Reception boast such delectables? I think not!

Ah! My favorites! They look wonderful on the blue plates with pound cake.
The girls look so cute in their outfits and bows! They are marvelous pickers. Nice sized strawberries too. Yum!

  • Yum and FUN! I love the pic of the girls with the bus in the background! Precious!

We went strawberry picking last year but I decided to cheat and buy the freshly picked ones from the guy in the Michael’s parking lot this year! If I had such a helpful crew like yours though, I would have definitely been at the fields. Maybe I’ll borrow them next weekend? 😉

Enjoy those strawberries and that royal dessert! 🙂
