Pom Pom Tutorial
Thursday, February 16, 2012
I had a couple questions about the pom-poms we had hanging at Evies “Fairy” Birthday party last month. Ill confess that most of my ideas are not originally mine. I google Martha Stewart ideas and lean heavily on Pinterest for inspiration:)
And here’s another confession. I didn’t make most of these….Abi did. Simple enough for a 9 year old to make, but a big statement with a lot of finesse!
And these are SO easy and affordable (tissue paper on sale was under a buck!) and can be used for all kinds of party themes depending on the party colors.
You’ll need
Tissue Paper
Clear fishing line or string
wire or paper clip
Take 8-10 sheets of tissue paper and fold it back and forth accordion style
Find the center of the paper by folding in half
On that fold line, affix a twist tie, wire or paper clip to secure it
Trim both edges by rounding them (or points) with scissors
affix a long string or thread to wire which your pom pom will dangle from
Open both sides of the paper so it looks like a “butterfly”
Begin to unfurl layer by layer opening the tissue paper…..
like…….
…this…..
suspend from the ceiling….or fan….or anything!
Have fun creating!! Happy Friday friends!
We have something unbelievably amazing coming up this weekend that I can’t wait to share with y’all later!
