Little Bow Peep

Monday, October 12, 2009
I (for one) thought Evie looked adorable all dolled up for church in the vintage gown and bonnet my mother smocked for me when I was two.
Tristan however, (whom I’ll preface this by saying adores his sister,) saw her, rolled his eyes just a bit and in a slightly exasperated tone stated,
“Mom! She kinda looks like she should be taking care of sheep!”
Hmmm…I guess he’s got a point there. A very cute shepherdess though, don’cha think?

She is adorable! Only a brother would be so honest. That made me laugh! My brothers would have said something like that about me when I was little.

  • Lacey says:

Very cute. But I can totally picture a boys reaction to it though. Having all boys and all 🙂

  • Karen says:

yes- a very cute little bow peep I should say…you should have found some sheep to pose her next too! 🙂

  • Rebecca says:

Too cute! You know I LOVE that precious ensemble!
Tristan’s comment reminds me of what Wyatt said when we were getting dressed for our family photo shoot a few weeks back…I pulled Luke’s daygown out of the closet to get him dressed and Wyatt said “Um, Mom, why’s he wearing a dress?”. I told him that “it’s not a dress. it’s a gown.” Then, I took it off the hanger and realized that it did include a linen slip…so, maybe it was more of a dress!
Then, I put a smocked outfit on him a week later and Wyatt saw him and said “um, Mom, he looks like a girl.”…I informed him that the precious little smocked bubble was his from when he was born and he wore those things and turned out just fine!
Bow Peep her for as long as she’ll let you!!!

A very cute shepherdess, indeed! And what kind of TRUE shepherdess would she be if she did not have painted pink toes? Love it!

  • Giggle-giggle… such a boy thing to say. from another mamma, I say, So sweet, and how beautiful to make the memory of her wearing something you wore once. truly a wonderful memory. She looks darling.
