7 Months

Christmas Eve marked 7 months we’ve been blessed with you as part of our family sweet Gabriella.

I dont remember the other babies growing and changing this quickly, but try as I might…..I cant slow you down.  So we are savoring every moment.  Every smile.  Every babble.  Every first.

After a funny looking little bald spot on top of your head (that we conveniently disguised with a huge bow for the last month) you’ve finally grown some cute new fuzz.  We all love to pet your little “do”.

In addition to mastering sitting up, you are also working on your crawl.  We all get tickled watching your efforts which usually result in you scooting backwards instead of forwards.

Im bracing myself for the mischief you’ll be getting into next month at this time now that you’re becoming mobile.

Everyone comments on your big blue eyes.  So glad you got your daddy’s genes!

You are the sweetest tempered little girl!  The only time you fuss is when you’re hungry.  Or when you want to come to bed with us instead of staying in your crib.  And Ill confess….we indulge.  But since you’re our easiest most laid-back baby, I hardly think we’ve spoiled you.  Our wee-hours-of-the-morning cuddles are one of the sweetest parts of my day!

Da-da” was your first “word”.  You may not know it means “daddy”, but its the first sound you repeated over and over and over while daddy was in India for a few weeks.  Im so glad we were able to record that first sound you discovered so daddy will have it forever!
You must be teething because everything goes in your mouth.
Everything!

This whole Christmas has been magical watching the lights reflecting in your curious little eyes.  And Ive been reminded again of the humble way our Savior and Lord chose to come to the world.  He left his home in glory to come to our broken world as a wee, helpless, innocent baby.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Isaiah 9:6
