Crepes & Co. Brunch Review
Growing up in a family of eleven kids, Mother’s Day was an annual cause for celebration in our busy home. On this day, mom got to put aside her endless responsibilities. I fondly remember as a child, dressing up in our “Sunday best” and all going to brunch at a fancy hotel after church every Mother’s Day. We’d linger for hours frequenting the bountiful delights of the dessert spread that are now exaggerated, Im sure, in my childhood memories! With Mother’s Day just around the corner, (this weekend friends!!) we’ve done the scouting for you and are excited to share three of our top recommendations for Mother’s Day Brunch to treat that special someone in your life to a family feast that will honor her with the memories of her little ones gathered around a beautiful brunch that she didnt have to prepare!!
Crepes & Co.
All-Day French Eatery
Suggested Casual Attire
$$
After several years of success located in a popular complex along Thonglor, Crepes & Co have just moved, remodeled and opened their doors at a new location down Thonglor Soi 9.
Contemporary decor, vaulted ceilings supported by glossy crown moulded pillars and a panorama of floor to ceiling windows makes this spacious locale a popular spot for families or friends to meet up for brunch. While many restaurants attempt to accommodate children, this one was by far the most “family friendly” offering high chair, coloring pages and plastic utensils and plates for our youngest tagalongs. The kids menu ensures that even the picky eaters in your party find dishes that bring a smile to their face!
Don’t be deceived by the name. Crepes & Co. may specializes in these signature French delights but they aren’t limited to the delicacy for which they are named. Their newly revamped menu boasts healthier options and fresher ingredients while still maintaining their signature favorites for which they are famous. In addition to egg dishes, unique bruschettas and fresh salads, smoothie bowls are yet another option for those wanting a lighter fare. And perhaps the greatest thing about their menu is the photo book which allows you to visually feast on all the tempting options before making your selection. Presentation also takes the cake at this restaurant with flourishes and creativity that capture the eye as well as the palate. Our salad, was plated up in a mason jar with a special house-made sriracha sauce dressing on the side and a bowl for tossing which made for an especially fun, interactive dish!
The Brunch Set (available anytime of day for 565baht) is a popular favorite which allows you to tick of a checklist of choices; tea, cappuccino or hot chocolate for drinks, yogurt & cereal sides, hot sides like ham, sausage, mushrooms & tomatoes and then eggs however you choose. You can fill in the gaps with fruit salad, english muffin, croissants, and of course finish with a pancake or crepe!
Ordering a la carte has no shortage of tempting and tantalizing options. Dining with friends makes this especially fun as portions are generous for sharing and tasting a variety of egg dishes, salads, meats, seafood and of course crepes; of the sweet and savory nature! The Greek (stuffed with marinated chicken, feta, spinach and some heavenly sauce drizzled on top) was polished off in seconds by our crew!
Relaxed atmosphere, personable staff, and hearty, healthy favorites are just a few of the things that make Crepes & Co. great! Book a table for your crew for Mother’s Day or walk in at your leisure. This is a spot to bookmark on Grab-Taxi because you for sure will want to return again and again for tasteful, creative and fun dining at this all-day French eatery!
Family Fun Night – The Corner Review
Its no secret that Bangkok boasts some of the greatest dining options from ethnic exotic flavors, to upscale ritzy restaurants, and succulent burgers from the back of famous food trucks. The other well known fact is that Bangkok traffic is enough to make you want to eat dinner in your yoga pants at home and never brave the bustling roads. No worries – you dont have to resort to ramen noodles!
Sure you want to try that hip new restaurant across town, but the thought of an hour in traffic is daunting!
But who says you cant have it both ways?
Our Family Fun Nights highlight Bangkok Restaurants that DELIVER the best appetizers, entrees and desserts right to your door. This concept is new to expats, but one of the greatest features of Bangkok living, giving you accessibility to taste the finest – all from the comfort of your home!!
The Corner
While their menu encompasses a wide variety of Thai, Western and Italian dishes – all impressively authentic – their specialty, we believe, lies in their Mediterranean fare! No other cuisine leaves you feeling quite so wholesomely full, satisfied, and yet healthy! The Corner served up all our favorites – Falafel & Tzatziki, Fried Olives (if you’ve never tried, you’re missing out,) Hummus & Homemade Pita (Gigi licked the container clean!) and a succulent Chicken Shawarma! Delivery was made to our home (a good 30 minutes from the restaurant), still hot, beautifully assembled, garnished and intact!
Bruschettas were as flavorful as they were colorful. This is a great starter to share with a crowd! We cut in fourths so everyone could sample all the savory sensations – Tomato & Parmesan, Peppers & Anchovies, Eggplant & Mozzarella, Mushroom & Feta, (my personal favorite!) and Ratitouille and Parma Ham.
Paninis and sandwiches are great weekday simple supper to select from on a busy night that the family needs to order in. The sandwich menu offers a “make your own option” with a diverse list of roasted vegetables, meats, cheeses, pesto and all the best bread varieties! A great alternative for the child in your family that has strong preferences – simply design a sandwich custom made for them!
And pasta – who doesnt love pasta? The Fettuccini Carbonara and Beef Lasagna is always a crowd pleaser. We found this one to be as good as Grandmas – and thats saying a lot!!
Pour yourself a glass of wine and feast on the Slow Roasted Chicken – deliciously brined and hearty enough to share. Pair with a salad (of which there is no shortage of yummy choices) and you have a well balanced meal that is both satisfying and health friendly!
And here’s a special you wont want to miss if you’re going to be dining The Corner mid-week…

Cafe Tartine Review – Bangkok Thailand
Just a few meters from the BTS stairs leading to throngs of busy commuters hustling along on the Ploen Chit train platform above, is a nook nestled off the gritty Sukhumvit strip which raptures you away from the city to the simplistic sophistication of the French provincial countryside! Cafe Tartine, a family business, opened its doors nearly 8 years ago and has been thrilling guests since day one with their modern twists on classic favorites.
By day, Cafe Tartine is a central hub for meeting a friend for a perfectly crafted cappuccino coffee and a crepe or getting some work done over a chocolate croissant and peach iced tea. Lunch draws a business crowd and is a favorite ladies-meet-up with classics like the Cobb Salad, Burgers and their Paulette Chévre which is a must-try – baguette stuffed with marinated chicken, savory black olives and creamy goat cheese.
The weekend brunch is when the doors fling wide open to welcome patrons who saunter in on Sunday after sleeping-in to treat themselves to Quiche or Croque Madame. I sample Eggs Benedict at every brunch spot I visit and Cafe Tartine‘s hollandaise sauce is spot on! With white, rose, red and sparkling wine options, you can linger unhurried and sip while your toddler is entertained by Walt Disney classics that play on the large screen TV. Staff is friendly, helpful and exceptionally accommodating – bringing our youngest bruncher (Eden, 1 year) the end of a baton; because every teething baby loves to chew on the crusty end of a french loaf!! The crowd surges late morning with brunch goers spilling out onto the patio terrace for alfresco dining cooled by large fans. Prefer to stay at home in your pajamas? No worries – you can order delivery!
Save room for dessert. Ill admit that Ive tried for years to like Creme Brulee without much success. This was, I believe, the first time I went back for a second bite….and a third! Agathe (owner of Cafe Tartine) tells us that its her French mama’s secret recipe, and that’s where the magic is folks!
My girls had their faces pressed against the glass of the dessert case moments after walking into the restaurant. Oh sweet temptation! You’ll want to order a couple to share! Dont miss out on Lemon Meringue or Chocolate Pumpkin Pie!
